Welcome to POOSIE Limited. By booking a grooming appointment with me, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These policies are designed to protect your pet, ensure a high standard of service, and provide clarity about responsibilities and expectations.

Health & Safety
The health and wellbeing of your pet is my top priority. You must inform me of any existing health conditions, allergies, injuries, or medications your pet is taking before their appointment. Grooming can sometimes reveal hidden medical conditions or exacerbate existing ones. In such cases, I may need to seek veterinary care immediately. While I will always attempt to contact you first, any costs incurred for emergency veterinary treatment are your responsibility unless caused by my negligence.
Pets with serious health concerns, such as heart or respiratory conditions, extreme obesity, arthritis, or other medical vulnerabilities, may be groomed with special care. I reserve the right to shorten sessions, adjust services, or, in some cases, decline grooming if I determine it is unsafe for your pet.
Grooming Process & Pet Condition
Grooming can be physically and emotionally demanding, particularly for kittens, elderly pets, overweight animals, or those with thick or matted coats. Full grooming sessions can take over 2 hours, during which some pets may become fatigued, stressed, or anxious. I will do my utmost to make the experience comfortable, but I cannot guarantee that every pet will tolerate the full grooming session.
If your pet becomes overly stressed, I may need to pause or stop the grooming session. In such cases, the grooming fee will still be payable for the work completed. I also reserve the right to adjust or adapt grooming services to suit the needs of your pet.
Behaviour & Handling
Please disclose any behavioural issues, such as aggression, fear, or anxiety. If your pet displays aggressive or dangerous behaviour during grooming, I may need to stop the session to ensure safety. This includes bites, scratching, or refusal to cooperate despite gentle handling.
Extra time, handling, or precautions required for behavioural challenges may result in additional charges. I reserve the right to refuse grooming services if a pet poses a risk to themselves, other pets, or myself.
Grooming Services & Standards
I offer a variety of grooming services, including full grooms, lion clips, plush cuts, kitten grooms, and rabbit grooming. Services typically include bathing, drying, brushing, nail trimming and ear cleaning.
While I strive to meet your expectations, please understand that grooming results may vary depending on coat condition, breed, age, and temperament. I will always act in the best interest of the pet, even if this means modifying or declining certain grooming requests to ensure safety and comfort.
Pets with severe matting may require clipping or shaving. Additional charges may apply for extensive de-matting. Some coat types, such as long-haired or dense coated breeds, may require more frequent grooming than standard appointments allow.
Pricing & Payment
All prices are based on the size, coat condition, and behaviour of your pet at the time of grooming. Estimates are provided when possible, but the final price may vary depending on the work required. A £10 deposit is required to secure your booking, payable within 24 hours. If the deposit is not received, I reserve the right to release the appointment to another client.
Payment in full is due at the time of collection and can be made via [list payment methods]. I reserve the right to adjust pricing for difficult, time-consuming, or specialised grooming services.
Appointments, Cancellations & No-Shows
I require at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a £20 fee. If you cancel within 24 hours or fail to attend your appointment without prior notice, the full grooming fee will be charged.
Arriving late may result in rescheduling to maintain the schedule and ensure all pets receive the care they need. Pets must be collected promptly at the end of their grooming session to prevent stress and ensure smooth operations. Late collection may incur additional fees.
Consent & Liability
By booking a grooming appointment with me, you acknowledge that grooming carries inherent risks, including but not limited to cuts, scratches, stress, or adverse reactions to products. While I take all reasonable precautions, I cannot be held responsible for incidents unless caused by my negligence.
You also consent to emergency veterinary treatment if necessary and agree to cover any associated costs. This consent ensures that your pet receives prompt care if an urgent situation arises.
Vaccinations & Parasite Control
Pets must be up to date with all relevant vaccinations. Proof may be requested at the time of booking or prior to the appointment. Pets found to have fleas, ticks, or other infestations may require treatment before grooming, with associated costs applied. This policy protects your pet as well as other animals in my care.
Privacy & Data Protection
Personal information collected during booking is used solely to provide my services efficiently and securely. I will not share your information with third parties without consent, except where legally required. You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data at any time.
Communication & Updates
I may contact you regarding appointments, updates, or other service-related matters. By providing your contact information, you consent to receive such communications. I reserve the right to update these terms and conditions at any time, with the most current version available on my website. Continued use of my services constitutes acceptance of any updates.
